Great flood which hit Wasior, West Papua, Monday October 4th, 2010, has caused up to 200 people were killed or injured, and 1000 homeless. The lacks of meteorological data of this place make it difficult to analyze the meteorological condition before the flood. The nearest rain gauge was only in Sorong and Manokwari which is more than 200 km away from Wasior. Synoptic analysis showed that the atmospheric condition supports cloud development over Wasior area. TRMM data analysis found that the night before the flood, there was a heavy rain, but this kind of rain was also found several times in the last three years.
