ESTIMASI WAKTU ULANG GEMPABUMI MENGGUNAKAN BESARAN STRESS DROP STATIS DAN STRAIN RATE (Studi kasus : Gempabumi Mentawai 25 Oktober 2010)

Usaha untuk menentukan waktu perulangan (τr) gempabumi telah banyak dilakukan dengan berbagai metode, namun sampai saat ini hasilnya masih kurang memuaskan. Pada studi ini penetuan τr dilakukan dengan menggunakan parameter karakteristik sumber gempabumi. τr diestimasi dengan menggunakan stress drop statis (∆σ) dari parameter sumber gempabumi dan seismogram. Parameter sumber gempabumi yang digunakan terdiri dari momen seismik (Mo), Slip rata-rata (panjang L dan lebar W) digunakan untuk mengestimasi ∆σ gempabumi Mentawai (Mw 7.7) tanggal 25 Oktober 2010. 6 (enam) lembar seismogram dari stasiun seismik PPI, PSI, KLI, KAPI, AAI dan JAY juga digunakan untuk menduga besaran ∆σ untuk gempabumi tersebut. Menggunakan varian parameter sumber gempabumi pada model circular crack, didapatkan nilai ∆σ sekitar 3,6 bar sampai 28,8 bar, sedangkan pada model dip slip sekitar 9,62 bar sampai 65,86 bar. Apabila digunakan nilai strain rata-rata berorde 10-15 s-1, akumulasi stress dapat diduga sekitar 7076 Pa/tahun. Dengan membandingkan kedua nilai ∆σ yang dilepas oleh gempabumi Mentawai terhadap akumulasi stress, maka nilai τr didapat sekita 75 tahun sampai 930 tahun.
A lot of methods is used to determine of earthquake recurrence time (τr) but the result was still unsufficient. τr can be estimated by using the static stress drop (∆σ) from the earthquake source parameter (ESP) and seismogram. That parameters consist of seismic moment (Mo), Slip rate (length L and width W) is used to estimate of ∆σ of Mentawai earthquake (Mw 7.7) on Oct 25, 2010. Then the six seismograms from PPI, PSI, KLI, KAPI, AAI and JAY was used also to estimate of the ∆σ. Using the variant of ESP above to the circular crack model, the ∆σ was found around 3,6-28,8 bars, for dip slip model around 9,62- 65,86 bars. Then applied strain rate value with order 10-15 s-1, the stress accumulation can be estimated around 7076 Pa yr-1. By comparing the ∆σ values with stress accumulation, the τr is found around 75 yr until 930 yr.
